I decided to the first full artwork of my Rylynn, and well... I don't really like it very much. To be precise, I kinda hate it. It's yucky. I think poor Ry looks like a mole
needed to upload it, though, as the BG's okay, and I like the theme. plus, I really want to check this new submit page of dA. it looks like a total crap to me as for now, but maybe I'll get used to it someday...
okay, have some writing in addition to this. if you see any mistakes, point them out. English is not my native lanuage after all c: and you know what... I like this text much more than the picture. I actually trembled while writing it, and it wasn't because if the temperature I think.Rylynn was coming back to the Eden at night after going out to the Wastelands to get some space- which wasn't a very clever thing to do. But he was strong, experienced and big- and he was still alive after so many trips. That meant he felt somehow immortal, and even if he died... Well, he'd be dead.
When he came to the entrance, he nodded to the Gate Guard who let him out. Such a good youngster he was! But now, the black mutt noticed, despite the guard wearing his mask, he looked somehow uneasy.
"Rylynn..."- he started, looking at his forpaws after the Mapper gave him this infamous drilling gaze of his, also visible through the mask. "Star's out there".
"What?"- the black dog asked when he heard his mate's name, in a voice that wasn't very loud, nor filled with emotions, but a wrath and coldness could be heard in it.
"She said she was going after you, she begged me and threatened me to let her go, and finally just... escaped. I had no chance to catch her!"
"Perhaps you hadn't"- Rylynn snapped, looking at the thickset youngster, a massive heap of muscle. He made a few steps backwards, just to take a look at the ground. The earth was hard here, so there were no pawsteps visible.
"You should have sent someone after her, fool! Which way did she go?!"
Casting the last furious glance at the guard who pointed his muzzle in to the west, Rylynn turned around and bounded away. He tried to scent the sable and white bitch, but it was rather useless in his mask.
He spent hours looking for her. "Why, Star, why did you go after me? What was that couldn't wait till I come back? How could you do such a reckless thing, dear, how could you?!", his mind was screaming, while on the outside, he looked serious and concentrated as always. He'd never been more aware of his own feelings. Always rather dull, always above everything. Now he felt fear and guilt. "I have to find you". The night was really cold and dark. "Oh, come on, comeon, comeoncomeoncomeon!". On the east, he noticed, the sky was turning a graphite-grey shade instead of inky black, and the stars were disappearing, just as Star had.
"There you are!", he shouted when he saw a white-and-red bundle on the ground some metres ahead. "I've been dying of worry, Star. Come to me, Star. Such a silly thing you'd done... to go out and take a nap? Come on..."
He wasn't feeling the scent of blood just yet.
When he came closer, he saw the first crimson spots marking his mate's fur. He thought she must have got attacked and hit unconscious, so he sprinted towads her, suddenly losing the feeling of pain in his paws that'd been caused by what must have been 8 hours of walking. When he bent his head over her, he noticed there was more blood than he'd thought- the red fur of Star's and the dust have camouflaged it perfectly. And one more thing...
She wasn't breathing.
At first he took off his mask and put her body on his back- how terrifying, it felt like she was already getting stiffer, but it must have been his imagination! "That's all my fault. Why you're unconscious?! I have to carry you back to the eden, Star. The Physicians will help you, Star!", he thought in deep shock. He walked like this for some time, until he suddenly felt terrible ache in his paws. The muscles were really tired and the pawpads were scratched by sand. And with the feeling of pain, another realization came ofer him... that Star was dead. He laid her on the ground and mourned quietly over her body. He wanted to howl, but it would just bring the Wastelanders there, so he had to keep himself silent. The sky was already bright. Thanks to the milky sun, Star's fur was glowing despite the dust covering it...
