Description

I'm not sure about this character's name, but =Folkve suggested I drew her as the prize for earning the second place in my contest. a sweetheart, isn't she? <3

so good to work on some digital art after such a busy week... there was, and still is, a lot of studying for me to do. I'm also about to do the last 3 hours of driving before I take my exam, so I need to prepare. and on Thursday I broke up with my boyfriend after nearly two years of being in a relationship, and a few weeks of arguing... so, yeah, I've been rather nervous and a bit down for the last two months or so. but there is a major plus as well- my weekend was really enjoyable!

Hey, Lukia here! I don't know if I should be critiquing this since I probably couldn't do something this epic myself, but I will anyhow. Alright, straight in.
I love the pose on this, very cute and I love how she's holding her "furbangs" out of her face. Or rather, pawing them out of the way—even though the character isn't completely realistic, you keep the pose possible for a real animal, which I love!
I really like the style, you blend realism and cartoonish perfectly! The lineart is sketchy, but very clean, it looks drawn with smooth, confident strokes. It always looks great that way hehehe ^^
The anatomy is spot on! Just a few things—the eyes aren't completely aligned with the nose—don't get me wrong, I personally think that's one of the hardest points of drawing faces! Also, the right ear seems a bit shorter than the left—a tiny detail but I felt I should say something.
The expression is great—sweet, shy but playful at the same time. The eyebrows add a lot but the piece is true to its name—this would not be the same without the smile.

The shading technique really adds a lot to the picture, the dappling effect accents the fact that the character has fur, instead of using smooth shading that sort of plays down the realism in the fuzz department.

Altogether, very nice, well put-together and just plain adorable. <3 Again, I love the style! Definitely going in my faves! ^^
